Since 2016/6/25, you can go inside part of the Imperial Palace for free （Can't go inside of building）. Basic you should make a prior registration for guided tours of the Imperial Palace.

有资格参观的人Qualifications
年满18周岁，一次最多能申请50人。
Anyone 18 years of age or older; the maximum number of persons per application is 50.
或者通过学校申请的学生并有成年人带领。一次最多9人。
Or are accompanied by an adult and in junior high school or above and have applications from their schools. the maximum number of persons per application is 9.
参观时间Time
每天两次，开始时间： 10：00 am 或者 1:30 pm，每次持续时间：大概1h15min

- 不可以在日本皇宫引发麻烦Can't cause any trouble inside.
- 不可以醉酒后进入Can't entry after drunk
